In June 2019, Stevenage Borough Council, The Practice Roomz, and North Herts FM held a Battle of the Bands series of events leading up to Rock in the Park.
Battle of the Bands consisted of:
2 in-studio radio heats featuring 17 musicians (winners decided through online voting)
Finale concert with a t-shirt/badge/poster-making workshop held at Flava Bar
Winner awarded a set at Rock in the Park and interview on North Herts FM
Runner-up awarded concert at pub in Old Town
This was a fun event that provided great exposure and professional development for local bands and contributed to Stevenage's night-time economy.
